Problem:

The existing wood steps were rotting and not consistent nor built to code, making it very difficult and awkward to use. The landscape had been neglected by the previous homeowners and required more maintenance than they wanted to take on. A very steep slope made it very difficult to get a mower to the lower level to cut lawn. And of course there was only 7’ of access on the side of the house, and nearly 300 ton boulders needed to get into the backyard, it was not a job for just anyone to take on.

Solution:

We completely gutted the backyard and built multiple retaining walls to create better access, more usable space, and most importantly low maintenance. Ground cover was utilized in areas to retain slope, and 48 pre-fabricated steps were installed to get to the lower levels.

Features:

Staircase, landscape lighting, landscape design & installation, natural stone retaining walls, wood burning firepit.

Materials-

Natural Boulders & Montana Ledge rock retaining walls, High Format Dimensional Steps (Fon Du Loc Color), Unilock Mattoni (Cocoa Brown Color), High Format Belvedere Fire pit (Fon Du Loc Color), Vista Night Lighting.
